Tools

I use a lot of tools for my projects. Most of them I collected for  years. Some change over the years as techniques or preferences changes. But here are some of the tool I use a lot.

Glue
Can't say enough that your project is only as good as your glue. Some glues ave acids which can be bad for your projects, or have a colour. These ones are my fav glues, but I use my double sided tapes as well.

Scissors
Of course, scissors are needed for every project. I have got a pair for normal use, a non stick (teflon) pair for sticky jobs, a ribbon one to cut ribbons and other fabrics. A big pair and a small pair and a lot of old ones as well. You can't have enough. Even with a paper trimmer and/or paper guillotine.

Tweezers
These tool are really handy. Sharp tweezers for placing sequins, doing some decals  of weeding your HTV. A knife for everything you won't cut with your trimmer or scissors. A hook and pickup tool for everything small, sticky to hold. So handy.

Ink
As a card maker, scrapbooker and paper crafter, there inks are the essentials to nice layouts and fitting designs. You need at least a good black ink to stamp sentiments and to colour with your preferred medium. As I use Copics, I use Memento ink a lot. Archival Ink is for the sentiments, Top Boss for embossing en distress for distressing. The rest is for the pretty colours.

Fiskars Trimmer

I guess this one is obvious. I make a lot of cards, scrapbook pages and other paper and vinyl related crafts. Therefore a straight line is necessary. You can't get a perfect cut with scissors, but with one of these, that is no problem any more

Sizzix Big Shot
The Big Shot is my fav die cutting and embossing machine on the market. It helps to get more with embossing folders and cutting dies. Love the combo with my framelits. Because, a straight line and flat background can be boring after time, this one makes crafting more fun and diverse.

Silhouette Cameo
The Cameo is a DIY full automated cutter you use with a computer. I love this machine. Got started with a Cricut Create, but switched to the Cameo. I like this one better. You can select Silhouette designs or any svg design and cut it for you craft projects. I use it mainly to cut vinyl  and paper. Stickers, shirt designs, paper crafts, fabrics etc., everything is possible. 30,5 cm (12 inch) up to 3 meters (10 feet) cuts.

Misti

The Misti is a stamp tool which helps you to line up your stamps and get them precise on the right spot. The first stamp wasn't perfect? No problem, ink it up again and stamp on the exact same spot again. This one was the first on the market, I ordered the SU version the Stamparatus (must admit that I hate the name) . Hope it arrives soon.

Heat Gun

Simple, straight forward tool. For heat embossing, there is no way you can craft without one of these. Push the button and start embossing or drying you projects. I can't even remember the brand I've got. So it is not really important as long as it heats up well. This one has got 2 heat settings to dry or emboss I really like this feature about mine.

YourStory laminator
For some projects, a laminator is a handy tool to have.

I admit that I do not use this one as often as I should be. But still, with binding options, project life etc it is handy to have.

I love having the right tool for the job. But I guess I am not the only one who is restricted in budget, storage space and availability (the disadvantage of living in the Netherlands, not all products from other countries are sold over here and the import costs can be cruel)
