Hairy Birthday

It is birthday season (isn’t every season birthday season for card makers) and I just got my Heffy Doodles stamp set “Highland Honeys” and love it. It is so much fun to use. To get into the Scottish scene, I created a tumbled glass distress cloudy background and with my eBay bought mountain dies and some grass with my dollar store dies. I spattered some black paint and highlighted the edges with a bit of “Oasis green” VersaMagic ink. I think it gives it such a really subtle difference in colour and I really like the outcome. The cute Scottish highland cow is coloured in E30-E39.with some bright red (R24, R27) and dark W7-W9 hooves. Isn’t he cute with his little tammie (yeah, I had to look it up: it is the name of the traditional Scottish bonnet).

I tried to create a highland scene with high mountains and a lot of grass and trees. The trees are all coloured in G20-G29 just like the grass patches. To make it clear it is a Scottish scene, I added the teeny Scottish flag in the left corner. I love this stamp set and can’t wait to make more legendary cards. I enter the birthday challenge from Scrapping 4 Fun and the anything-goes one from Cute Card Thursday and Crafty Creations. I entered this card via Facebook to the Heffy Doodle challenge adventure time as well.

Happy Crafting,
Stefanie
