It was thanks o’cluck at my house. Our neighbour provided the incubator machine to hatch our sweet chick (and duck) and I needed a fitting thank you card. Of course, I had to use my Create a Smile stamp set “Crazy Chick” for this situation and used the sketch from Create a smile challenge to make this card as well. It is a quick and easy card, as I die cut the background from Nikki Sivils “Willow Bee” with my Crealie dies and used a thanks die from the dollar store. The chick itself is coloured in mu R30-R39 range with the YR4, Y38 and Y17 for the beak and feet. I used my white gel pen for some extra details. My main image is a chick and fits the Crafty Animals challenge (there is a bee on it as well, so it counts as animals 😉).
I finally bought a scalloped frame die from Crealies and used it on this card for the first time. As it is a male card, I used a lot of black, even the ribbon is black with a tiny bit of silver sparkle, perfect for the little red wagon challenge. It is the “glittered organdy ribbon” from Stampin’ Up and it is gorgeous. The only dimension I added for this card is for the chicken, everything else is mounted directly to the previous layer, the thank you is from very thick card stock and I used 2 layers for a bit extra texture and thickness. Hope our neighbour likes his thank you card (with the gift basket I will buy tomorrow).
