There was another birthday in my Instagram craft group and had to make a nice summer vibe card, as she does not like stereotyped birthday cards. I used my “Flamingo together” Lawn Fawn set, as well as the “Critters from the past” one for the palm tree and the “Life is good” for the tiny palm tree and coconut. The flamingoes are coloured with my red Copics R20-R24 and got some white gel pen highlights. The trees (and the leave), are in my greens G20-G29 (with G000) and browns E71-E78 just like the coconut. I used my sunray stencil with my tumbled glass and scattered straw distress oxide and ink to create a nice sunrise on the beach scene. I used my stitched wave die to cover the sun.
I used a sentiment from MFT on this card, as the recipient does not want a plain happy birthday, I liked this one as it fits my scene and a birthday. It comes from the “Anything but Basic Birthday wishes” set and fits so nicely the “dancing” flamingos. I really like the different blues with the pink of the flamingos and guess I will use this combination for other projects as well. Guess the new Lawn fawn set “toucan do it” would fit nicely in the upper corners. I enter the tropical delight challenge from Shopping our Stash and summer challenge from Double D.
