I saw these gorgeous stamps on Instagram and had to get them. The set is from Create a Smile and is called “Gull-gang”. This set is hilarious and cute all together. I used two of the seagulls and the tree trunk for this card to make another maritime scene. I guess, I really miss the sea. The colouring is really simple on this one. I used my cold Grays for the seagulls (C0-C7) and Yellows (YR04, Y38, Y17) and that was it. The tree trunks are old warm Grays (W1-W7).
The background is made from Distress inks in tumbled glass, stormy sky and a tiny bit of salted ocean. I spattered some inks with silver glimmer mist over the paper for a more rough looking sea and a nicely fitting the weather challenge from Cut it up. I used some dollar store wave dies with my Crealies stitched rectangle die to create the background. Perfect for the stitched challenge from Simpy Create Too. To have some visual sky, I used a piece of vellum on a white card base. Simple, but I really like the effect to capture the rectangle. The sentiment is from the same stamp set and I love it. I put it on some foam tape to get some more depth in the scene. Next time I will use a slimline design to get more seagulls on one card.
