Another day, another valentine card for the C.R.A.F.T. Challenge or for a dear friend ;). Finally got the chance to use my Lawn Fawn stamps from “Octopi My Heart”. It is a bit more blue than the photo inspiration, but still find it fitting for the Lawn-Fawnatics-Challenge. The card is a white card stock on my usual white card base with a black frame. As always, I used the stitched framelit to give it a bit more interesting look.
The background is a splash of water and “faded jeans” distress ink. Some black and white acrylic paint is added with bigger and smaller splashes. I coloured the stamps with my new stampin’ blends from SU Calypso Coral and some reds from my Copics. I’m still not sure if I love the SU blends or not. They are easy going but do not blend as smooth as my beloved Copics. Or maybe I’m just prejudiced, who knows.
I embossed the words on black card stock with white embossing powder and after everything dried up, I assembled the pieces and added some red and black ribbons (these are glued on top of each other). It was a hell to do, but only because I had no watercolour paper and used normal stamping paper which is not as forgiving when wet. Lesson learned, next time i will wait until I have the right supplies and craft then … or not. I’m not patient 😉
